Blackbird Doughnuts is one of Boston’s most unique places for a sweet (or savory) treat. Located on Kilmarnock Street, this sleek industrial storefront is the place for delicious, fresh, artisanal doughnuts.
The folks behind Blackbird pride themselves on serving up gourmet doughnuts from scratch, and they do all of their baking on-site. The result is unparalleled freshness and totally creative flavors. Sure, you can’t go wrong with a classic vanilla glazed or boston cream, but you might want to try the extraordinary “everything bagel” doughnut, which is filled with whipped cream cheese and topped with toasted garlic, onion, poppy and sesame seeds. The triple chocolate is another winner, with dark chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache, topped with — what else — chocolate sprinkles. This location opened just eight weeks ago, meaning there’s still time to beat the crowds to this very special doughnut spot.
